Yesterday was an annual tourney, “The First Pair of the Year”, put on by former press ganger and awesome make out man Varagon (Bob Nolan) just south of Kansas City, we had 12 people show up and it truly was a good time. My adventures continue as I am still delving into the merc faction and staying out of Cryx and I am still having a ton of fun. The tourney turned out 12 people with 3 Trolls, 1 Cryx, 1 Legion, 1 Mercs, 2 Circle, 1 Cygnar, 2 Khador, 1 Retribution. My lists were as follows: Ossrum -Driller -Gunner -Sylys Forge Guard x10 Long Gunners x10 Ayana and Holt Herne and Jonne Dougal Thor Damiano -Nomad Rorsh -Brine Gunmages -Dude Steelheads Halbs x10 Steelhead Cav x5 Piper Both are highborn, sadly since I had so much time devoted to painting I didn’t actually practice my lists prior to going to a tourney, and I have to say when starting a new faction that is not a good plan if you want to do well, granted I was just going for fun but that is still true. Going in to this tourney I had a total of 3 hours of sleep followed by a 90 minute drive to get there, which helped in my performance as you will notice. Round 1, Opponent was Matt with Baldur1 and lots of beasts playing supply and demand. I choose the wrong list here, made a huge mistake mid game of not shaking a jack that was just out of melee of a wold guardian and it was pretty bad at that point for me. Luckily my opponent decided to use megalith animus instead of the Guardians and I had a shot at killing off Baldur, I took it and took down the game +1 to his Health.
